Daily Mashup:Dome sweet Dome, Burrell fit, B.J. Upton & more

Dome Sweet Dome

With all the talk of the Rays pushing for a new stadium, sometimes it is easy to forget what a unique stadium the Tampa Bay Rays play in.

Erik Hahmann of DRaysBay talks a bit about good ole’ Tropicana Field, and brings up some really good points: it’s a dome in Florida, there is not a bad seat in the house, and it is the underdog of stadiums.

A mashup of a mashup

Yeah, so, I am linking you to some other really great information on this. Marc Topkin put together a punch of random Rays goodies for today.

Some of the highlights:

Carl Crawford worked out with former Rays lefty ace Scott Kazmir this off season and said dude was a fiend!

Another tasty tidbit about Crawford, since 2003, only 6 players have more base hits than the speedy leftfielder.

Relief pitcher R.J. Swindle, the teams “resident Canadian” had to suffer through some ribbing after Team Canada’s hockey loss in the Olympics.

Be sure to check out Topkin’s “mashup” for more juicy Rays info…

How B.J. stacks up

With fantasy baseball drafts going on daily between now and the start of the regular season, you are probably asking yourself what Rays are must have players for your roster. Evan Longoria, Carlos Pena and Carl Crawford are of course, no brainers because of their consistent performance year in and year out, but what about a fringe player like B.J. Upton, someone loaded with talent, but is a perpetual under achiever? If you need some tips, check out this post about Upton an how he stacks up for fantasy play this season.

Burrell fit and ready to go

Pat Burrell says he is fit, and ready to rebound after a terrible 2009 season. I sure hope so, because it can’t get much worse than last year. I personally, am pulling for Burrell, but it would not hurt my feelings if we signed Hank Blalock to split duties. Read what Burrell has to say…
