Moments with Maddon

Check out this great new series on DRaysBay. It gives fans the chance to sound off on what they would have done in specific game situations. I think that deep down every baseball fan has the moments where they would have done something differently than the manager of their team. This is your way to show your knowledge off. Great idea by Steve Slowinski.

The Rays talent factory…

The Rays are well known at this point for the strength of their farm system, which is especially important for a small market team that can not afford to re-sign or bring in the big money names in baseball. This post by the Scouting Book takes a look at the Rays and their successful minor league farm system.

With Branyan gone, who is next?

The Rays have lost out on the great Russell Branyan race of 2010. The Indians were able to sign the position flexible veteran because they were able to offer more at bats than the Rays. That leaves you to question, who is next on the Rays list? If their was such a need to bring in Branyan, do they have their sights focused elsewhere? The Indians had Branyan first on their list and Hank Blalock second. Are the Rays going to target Blalock now? The 29 year old lefty cranked 25 homers while batting .277 last year. Check out this roundup that briefly talks about the Rays possibility of adding Blalock for the upcoming season. I for one, would welcome the addition. What are your thoughts?
