Former owner Vince Naimoli has put a book out to tell his side of the story and Marc Topkin has some of the details up in his column. Of course, leave to the man who wasted millions on bloated contracts for aging sluggers to launch his book the same week as Sarah Palin launches hers in the same meme. Somehow, I don’t think 1500 people are going to be standing in lines at Westshore Mall for 12 hours before Barnes and Noble opens the doors for Mr. Naimoli to appear in the fiction section.
All kidding aside, it is noble of Mr. Naimoli to donate all proceeds from the sale of the book to charitable organizations and if you are so inclined to read the book while earning a tax deduction, you can get information on how to order the book here. I guess I should let bygones be bygones and remember how pivotal Naimoli was in bringing the Devil Rays franchise to the Bay area but it is tough to forget what he did with the team once it was here, starting with approving the trade of Bobby Abreu for @$@#$ Kevin Stocker!
